Mere Baap Pehle Aap and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na - Movie Review

Movie Review of Mere Baap Pehle Aap and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

I took these two movies home in my pen drive from office. Here is my review of these films.

movie review film reviews mere baap pehle aap jaane tu ya jaane na, genelia dsouza Mere Baap Pehle Aap (You first, my dad) - 6/10 - Comedy - starring Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal and Genelia D'souza. Akshaye Khanna is Gaurav, a strict son who bosses over his father. Genelia is his prankster college friend who becomes his love interest. Gaurav's father Janardhan was once in love with Genelia's teacher Anuradha, but was unable to marry her. When he sees her at a wedding function after many years, love blossoms.....but.....opposition. Anyway, the film ends happily with three couples getting married.

Akshaye was good as the shouting, insulting son who keeps having to bail out his dad and dad's friend from trouble with the law. Genelia was irritating and comes across as a snob, always wrinkling up her nose in distaste. All in all, Mere Baap Pehle Aap is a good entertaining masala film if you have nothing planned for the evening.

movie review film reviews mere baap pehle aap jaane tu ya jaane na, genelia dsouzaJaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (Whether you realise it or not) - 2/10 - Romance - starring Imraan Khan (Aamir's nephew), Genelia D'souza, Salman's dumb brothers Arbaaz and Sohail and many extras as friends of the couple. The movie is about college friends, friendship turning into love and the airport scene at the end - basically there was nothing new in the story. The worst part of the film was that it was narrated in flashback mode, with frequent interruptions that ruined the pace of the film.

Most Aamir Khan films usually portray an alien upmarket lifestyle - where every guy has a group of friends that form couples, go to nightclubs and behave like Americans...this was no different. Maybe, I'm a bit traditional, but I really found this movie too uninspiring as a love story. Acting was OK, but a little over the top with all the shouting and screaming dialogues mouthed by Genelia. Also, that Rajput nonsense was too much. There was no soul and compassion in the film. When it comes to counting the good points about the movie - I have only one - The cat..... meow meow!!

Have you seen Mere Baap Pehle Aap and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na? What did you think of them?

p.s. Imraan Khan should change his name. There is a more famous Pakistani cricketer of the same name plus Emraan Hashmi of Bollywood.
