Yesterday, I had a fun evening watching Sallu Bhai singing on Adnan Sami's programme 'Bol Baby Bol' telecast on Star One. Bol Baby Bol is a reality music show where contestants have to sing karaoke and guess the lyrics of a string of missing words to win cash.

The Salman Khan Bol Baby Bol show was shot on one day but shown as two episodes a week apart. He was wearing a white shirt and for some reason did not take off his shirt even once :(

Salman picked fans from his audience to sing with him on stage - how sweet!! Wish I could have been one of those lucky girls!! He sang some of the lyrics, danced well and was so gentlemanly! What a great sport!!

Since the lyrics of his songs were his "bread and butter" as he said, he couldn't possibly forget any of them, except for the 'Don' song in which he pretended to be prompted!! Ha Ha!! He probably had to 'ratto' all lyrics and do many retakes when scenes were being shot... how could he ever possibly forget them! Snapped the last two pics with my sister's cameraphone from the television set - just couldn't resist!

At the end, Salman Khan won 25 lakh rupees, which he said will go to this new charity called 'Being Human'. I suppose that's the charity he was talking about when he won on KBC with Shahrukh Khan.

Salman Khan On KBC Kaun Banega Crorepati

The final episode of this season's Kaun Banega Crorepati that is hosted by Shah Rukh Khan was telecast last Thursday. Shah Rukh Khan brought on a few special guests from the Bollywood film industry - Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and my favorite actor - Salman Khan. The final episode sshow was around an hour and a half long and quite entertaining.

First came Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor. Two questions which I remember the computer asking them were -
1. Who was the first film star to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha ? Prithviraj Kapoor
2. What is in the left hand of the Statue of Liberty ? A book

Kareena knew most of the answers while Priyanka kept saying, "are you sure, it will be your fault if you are wrong."


Next came Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. I doubt these guys are serious about each other because of their negative body language. Katrina seemed to think Salman was a downright nuisance.

When asked which charity he would like to donate his winnings to, Salman Khan said he is planning to start a 'Salman Khan Foundation' because charity begins at home. What a cute way to say he is keeping the cash ... wink wink

Shah Rukh asked Katrina about the gifts Salman gave her, if any. She seemed so unsure and later said, "Men and women have different ideas about a date. Women like candlelight dinners while men just pick up a glass and put it down." How sad !!!

Questions they were asked were -

1. Which industrialist has the Hindi word meaning 'jewel' in his name? Ratan Tata
2. Which weapon did Bruce Lee become famous for in his movies ? Nunchaku
3. What form of clothing was named after the title of James Thomas Brudnell ? Cardigan

Katrina Kaif was even dumber than she looked. She did'nt seem to know the answer to any question even though Salman Khan gave hints about the answer over and over again.

The funnist part of the show was when Shah Rukh Khan asked Salman Khan to announce that they were going in for a break.

Salman (In Amitabh Bachchan's accent in Hindi) - "Go for a break"
Salman ( In Shah Rukh Khan's stammering voice) - " er....um....um....break"
Shah Rukh Khan - "I'll get you for this Salman"
Salman - grin ...grin

It was a great show. Salman Khan was at his funniest best and kept me entertained through the evening. He even did the Bihu dance steps which an Assamese guest had taught Shah Rukh Khan earlier. This elbow shaking hand waving dance was done alongside Shahrukh to the tune of 'Bhangra Pale' of the Shahrukh Salman starrer 'Karan Arjun'.

It's sad the season of Kaun Banega Crorepati has ended. Now I don't have anything to wait up for every weekday from 9.00 to 10.00 pm. I just keep switching channels randomly. The other day I managed to catch the Indian guy whom Asha has been blogging about being eliminated from American Idol. His voice and singing was quite good. I have a feeling he'll make it big elsewhere.

Holi Episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati - Hosted by Shah Rukh Khan

Well, the festival of Holi is on Sunday, so this Thursday's episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati had a Holi theme. Just like the Valentines Day episode where Shah Rukh Khan brought in long term boyfriend Karan Johar, this time he brought in two other friends - Rani ' sore throat' Mukherjee and Preity Zinta. Here is a pic of Shah Rukh Khan with gulal all over his face.

Shah Rukh Khan revealed on KBC that Preity Zinta has only one dimple. Oooh...I did not know that. This makes her a kind of freak. Now to think of it, she is always photographed from the right side. Her left side is always hidden with hair. Shah Rukh Khan also talked about how he was a Pathan and the fact that his family is originally from Peshawar in Pakistan.

Well anyway, Wishing You All A Very Happy Holi !
