Yes, it was a traditional marriage and congrats to the newly wed couple. The only thing that left a bitter taste in the mouth was the wedding guest list. The rich and powerful like the Ambanis, Subroto Roy, Nandas, Wadia, Thackeray, Amar Singh and the Deshmukhs were obviously invited. Some producers like Ram Gopal Varma who are paying the actors salaries in upcoming films were invited. Other stars who have had happy marriages were also invited like Sachin Tendulkar, Sonali Bendre, Rishi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Kajol.

People who were not invited -
1. Competitors of Abhishek and Aishwarya like John Abraham, Hrithik, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.
2. Ex-girlfriends/boyfriends - Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukherjee and thier families.
3. People in non traditional marriages, live in relationships and divorcees - Hema Malini, Dharmendra, Randhir Kapoor, Rekha, Sushmita Sen etc.
4. Muslims, Christians, and Parsis or people who have married Muslims, Christians or Parsis. AR Rehman and Aman Ali Bangash were the few Muslim sounding names invited for the wedding. (AR Rehman's real name is actually A.S Dileep Kumar while Aman Ali Bangash has recently been harping about his Hindu heritage to the media)

Ok, it is understandable why ex's should not be invited to a wedding, but why be so traditional in not inviting the others ?? If not to the wedding ceremony then at least to a reception ?? What do you say ??

  1. Beautiful pics!! Loved it and may they have a great marriage now that wedding is over.Hard part begins now!:))

It's not humanly possible to invite everyone you know.Ambanis and Nandas are relatives.I had 500 ppl in my wedding and half of them I didn't know.I would rather have few ppl I know well than a crowd:))

  2. Some are not Man enough to face the Competetion. I can understand not inviting the Ex's but Dharmendra not being invited is the biggest set back as Bachaan and Dharmendra were hit in the movies they did together. It would be strange to some that AB was never in top 3 on my favourites list. There is video available on You Tube of the marriage but I couldnot care any less to put it up on my blog.

  4. How special the Indian Form is!!Maybe we should think about some copying some of its points. I have a friend from Malaysia, but he didn't hold the wedding at his motherland. Maybe it's of so much pity. Indian form seems interesting!
I am going to get married with my fiance in very soon. It's of little awfulness when we have divarication at the details. Of course, finally we fixed it out. He is a busy guy, even his engaging gift is booked from website - http://www.hydiapearl.com, not deciding by shopping on the street, but it's OK. Because the gems on the necklace is a kind I really like, a green gem - symbolizing our long live love like a tree.

I thing wedding is an important ceremony in our life. I would not like to have it a seconnd time. Because most of the situation , the unique time would be the most memorate experience. To the form of the wedding, I cares about every thing, and I know he is the same. I really know a lot about wedding from your blog, good posting!!

  7. Thanks for all your comments.

Amitabh's daughter Shweta is married into the Nanda family, however, the Ambanis, Singhs, Roys and Wadias are just powerful friends.

The millionaires that the Bachchan's are, I am sure they could comfortably afford to throw a party for atleast 5,000 people. Instead, they showed stinginess on thier son's wedding, by inviting only those who were richer and more powerful and could prove useful in the future.

Competitors are also colleagues who you spend most of your working days with. They can make your life easy or hard. It is sad that the Bachchan's look at thier colleagues in a negative way.

  8. I think the Bachchans and the Rais had every right to decide whom to invite or not invite to the wedding, since this was a private function.

Amaan Ali Bangash officially changed his name to Amaan Ali Khan, some time ago. His father, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, is a Muslim, while, his mother, Subhalakshmi, is a Hindu.

Allah Rakha Rahman or A R Rahman was indeed born as A S Dileep Kumar, but he converted to Islam.

  9. The Bachans have Acted like racists. The people who give them so much respect, atleast if not inviting them for the traditional ceremony, they could have had them invited at some other function. really didn't think this low of Amitabh.

  10. Atleast don't lie about the price of Ash's wedding clothes. She could have chosen better.
